Sunset Paddle to Boulder Island
This is the one Evolution tour that happens after the sun starts going down. You'll meet at Hemenway Harbor for an easy paddle out to Boulder Island, framed by desert cliffs and glassy, wind-still water, timed each evening to catch the sunset at its best. Once you're there, there's time to swim, explore the shoreline, and warm up by the campfire while a catered deli dinner is served — and as the sky fades to violet, you'll light up your kayaks and paddle back around the island under the stars.
A Different Kind of Adventure
No kayaking experience is required, and at three hours round trip, it's an easy fit for a date night, a family outing, a company outing, or honestly any excuse to be on the water at sunset. Bring a water gun if you're up for it — guides say a splash fight is half the fun.
Before You Go
Plan to arrive 30 minutes before your tour starts. You'll be out in the open for the golden-hour sun before it sets, so a hat and sunscreen are still worth packing even though this is an evening tour.

What to Bring
Hat, sunglasses, & sunscreen
Water shoes, sandals, or old tennis shoes (no flip-flops or slides, please)…you will get wet up to your knees.
Layered clothing (swimsuit & layers for warmth & UV protection, preferably no cotton or denim)
Camera/Phone for pictures

As a self driver, you will be entering the Lake Mead Nat’l Rec area. There is a fee to enter, it is $25/vehicle or free if you have a military ID or a Nat’l Parks pass (America the Beautiful)

Please be courteous to other participants and promptly show up on time at the tour bus area or launch location provided on the confirmation email. Please have your cellular phone on and available. Shuttles generally arrive back to Las Vegas Resort & Hotels between 90 and 120 minutes after the kayak tour ends. Shuttle times vary with traffic.
