About This Tour
Fall, winter, and spring provides the best weather for hot springs and hiking in southern Nevada! The Gold Strike hot spring hike is a guide favorite as it is the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation.
This out and back hike begins at 9:00 am with a 3.5 mile hike through the Gold Strike canyon in Nevada. The early morning start increases our chances of spotting Big Horn sheep and other desert fauna. The Gold Strike canyon is geologically complex which is emphasized by its beauty, so be sure to stop and take pictures!
Three and a half miles and 800ft. lower in elevation brings you to the Colorado River. Here you can take a cold plunge in its beautiful green waters and then make your way back up Gold Strike canyon for a soak in one of its many geothermal pools. We know it'll be tough to leave the pools behind but after spending a couple of hours soaking it will be time to hike back out. The hike out provides a new perspective of Gold Strike canyon and more opportunity to spot wildlife.
